Using Mobile Network Diagnostic Applicaiton to Diagnose Network Issues

When you find your BB can脙垄芒鈥毬⑩€灺 send/receive emails, there are several possibility causing the failure.

your carrier脙垄芒鈥毬⑩€灺 network (such as AT&T, T-Mobile, Vodafone, Orange etc.) might not work properly;

RIM脙垄芒鈥毬⑩€灺 email relay is down (it脙垄芒鈥毬⑩€灺 rare, but possible);

The email server in your cooperation network is down;

To figure out where the failure point is, the built-in Mobile Network Diagnostic Application is a very useful toolkit. It will test the connectivity starting from carrier脙垄芒鈥毬⑩€灺 network, then RIM relay, then cooperation email server, and report the pass or failure of those connectivity tests. Based on the diagnostic report, you will know whether you should blame your carrier, RIM or your cooperation IT, when your dear BB lost email capability.

This Application is available in 8100, 8800, 8820, 8830 and 8300. T o launch Mobile Network Diagnostic Application:

Go to Options;

Click Mobile Network;

Click Menu key to bring up the menu;

Click Diagnostic Test menu item;
